The Gaylads performing on a moody and tuff bass line. Very Popular among
the collectors ... .and of course a killer tune! Delroy Wilson
demonstrates his vocal skills on a cool rock steady beat shuffling close
to early reggae. Both tracks are recorded from the same session. This
is the original take to Delroy’s Channel One classic “I’ll Never Hurt
You.”
The Gaylads yet again showing why they were one of the greatest rock
steady groups ... Lynn Taitt’s guitar work is impressive too......as BB
would say ”if you love this song, won’t you sing the melody with me....”
Crucial DJ version of The Gaylads “Looking For Girl” by Big Joe!
DJ cut by one Shorty Perry riding Ken Boothe’s “Can’t You See”. The
Gaylads showing their vocal skills with Lynn Taitt & his band
holding the rhythm section....beautiful example of rock steady!
Delroy Wilson’s “Give Love A Try” is a classic and the only “Links”
session to feature the organ. Again, recommended to all Jamaican 60’s
lovers. The biggest hit from The Melodians and a fatal tune from the
“Links” label that led a deep crack between the artists and the downfall
of the label. This track was in every sound-man box when it was first
released in Jamaica on 7”.
