Mobb Deep - Infamy
Erst mal müssen mit "Pray For Me" feat. --Sven Niechziol

Soia – Where Magnolia Grows (LP)
SOIA's happy place is "Where Magnolia Grows". This is where her paradise lies, where she can bloom and blossom. Adorned with playful melodies, the soundtrack fuses HipHop, R&B, NuSoul and Jazz over saturated and ample beats. The downright lyrics offer deep insights into SOIA’s soul. Together with her producer Mez she revives her musical roots of the nineties. The songs range between sensual soul and expressive contemporary R&B, neatly packed in a shell of electronic synths and keys. Throughout the nine tracks the beats make your head nod while SOIA’s voice makes you close your eyes in delight. The first track, a boom bap tune called RUN WITH WOLVES, gently introduces you to the album. In her paradise world she runs from nothing and determines her own pace. SOIA's high-pitched vocals are a deliberate alienation, a stylistic break from her two predecessor albums, which she also uses in HOE FOR LOVE and LOOMING STORM.VACANT PARADISE employs deep 808 kick drums and rolling hi-hats. In PAY FOR PIZZA, SOIA not only shows her love for HipHop, but also urges everyone to pay for their bills them damn selves.Released on Beat Art Department, a new sub-label of the well-renowned Munich-based record label Compost Records, WHERE MAGNOLIA GROWS is SOIA's third solo album. Her two previous albums MOOD SWINGS and H.I.O.P. were published by the Philadelphia-based label Record Breakin' Music. Her pre-productions have been nominated for the Austrian music award Amadeus twice and enjoy a loyal international fan base. She has appeared live at festivals such as SXSW, Sonic Visions, Electric Spring, Waves Vienna or Popfest Vienna, as well as at numerous club gigs from Cape Town to Vienna. Thanks to NASOM programme (The New Austrian Sound of Music) she is currently on tour with her band of four. Quotes:„Soia delivers sensual, abstract lyrics while effortlessly moving between spoken-word rhymes and melodic singing.“ - OKAYPLAYER / USA„Soia & Mez have grown immensely over the years musically pushing the boundaries of soul & jazz within an electronically tainted spectrum. Brilliant Album!“ - JAY SCARLETT / SOUND SUPREME / SPACEK"Soia and Mez have had a unique musical vibe from the start, but on this record they truly came into their own. Trusting each others talents and instincts enabled them to expand their sonic universe while staying 100% true to their path." -TRISHES / RADIO FM4

Malcolm R & Waseem – The Motherland EP (LP)
Limited to 150 copies Red Vinyl Edition! Limited to 60 copies! The work of Malcolm R & Waseem started with “Peace, Love, Unity and having Fun”, the Hip-Hop motto according to Krs-One. Malcolm R, involved in the social processes of his country of origin (Chile), moved to Munich Germany to pursue better education. By participating in Munich’s Rap scene he got to know Waseem and DasDing (DSDNG), a collective of Mc’s, Dj’s, B-Boys/Girls. Waseem, also an activist, invited Malcolm R to join the collective marking the starting point of their first projects together. From that moment on their common work flourished with the necessary spirit and resources to produce their first professional work in the form of “The Motherland EP”, which refers to the search for justice and to the roots of these two Afro-Latinamerican MC’s. Malcolm R & Waseem also feature some local and international musicians/activists, giving this project a wider spectrum to the perspective of people looking for a better future - in their motherland or as immigrants.

Malcolm R – Drapetomania (LP)
Limited to 150 copies Green Vinyl Edition! Limited to 60 copies! Malcolm R (Aka El Indio Jiux) is a MC hailing from Iquique Chile. Inspired by Oldschool HipHop and Jazz, he started playing the sax and rapping with a very early age and released his first mixtape "Técnicas de supervivencia" in 2014, recorded by Patricio Cabezas member of the group "Cerro" and in 2017 the mixtape "InI speech" recorded by Leinad Producciones. In 2021 he released “The Motherland EP” alongside Waseem a political activist and rapper from Munich, Germany. His raps deal with the social problems of present-day Chile as well as injustice, inequality and racism undeveloped countries are facing worldwide. His goal is to mobilize people and make these problems visible to those who can’t see this, or just ignore them on a regular basis. Now in 2022 he releases his first full length album “Drapetomania” via German label Pigeon Records. For the album he has been working with the Chilean producers Agresonido from the Reclaf Crew, Oscar Guerrero from the group Bajo linaje and Crenshett from his hometown of Iquique and the Munich producers L One from the ATP Crew, Tony Crisp and DJ Rude Teen from ArOzA Crew. The album title derives its name from Drapetomania, a supposed mental illness that was hypothesized as the cause of enslaved Africans fleeing captivity. Slave life was so pleasant, the official view was, that only the mentally ill would want to run away. The title shell implicate that the people of Chile are not free yet and need to stand up for they rights. They live under a flag that does not represent the majority of the country but discriminates them on economical and racial basis. His music is characterized by straight forward lyrics, very frontal messages with heavy pan-african political content and hard beats.

Flip – Experiences (LP)

DJ Vadim - Feel Up Vol.1 (LP)
It's rare to see Nassau, Covid and Grace Jones in the same sentence, but they were indeed part of the creative basis for DJ Vadim's brand new album, Feel Up.If someone had said in 2019 that a year later the world would literally shut down because of a pandemic, very few would have believed them (well, except those who have been waiting for the apocalypse since the year 2000). But Covid did happen, countries closed their borders, clubs closed and people were confined to various degrees As a busy international DJ, this was nothing short of armageddon for Vadim. The skies were darkened but rather than sink into inactivity and hibernation, DJ Vadim created his own tropical music festival within himself, an alternative universe that would share some kind of kinship with the recordings made at Compass Point Studios, orchestrated by Chris Blackwell for Grace Jones (1980-1982), James Brown, AC/DC, etc. It was a melting pot of world-class musicians, mixing reggae, pop, soul and African rhythms and sounds... creating one of the most influential albums of that period and it is in this spirit that the inspiration and title of DJ Vadil's new album, FEEL UP (literally 'Feel good'/'Have strength, courage'), was born. Forty years after those sessions at Compass Point Studios, the same quest for discovery has taken place in Vadim's Barcelona studio. The desire for growth, self-discovery and the creation of new sounds took hold. The dubcatcher with its 80's digital sounds went out and came back with a wide variety of musical tapas. The Alma Afrobeat band, the jazz quintet Abel Boquera Shu Shu and the jam band Empty pocket, Béla Ágoston and Márton Elő (Irie Maffia) all participated in inspiring DJ Vadim with various musical elements that reign so much in the West African vibes of 'Lift Off', the electronic hip-hop of 'Go Get It', the UK garage influences of 'Cheerleader', the Popcaan-inspired modern dancehall of 'More Than A Million' and the Argento-Costa Rican Tikaf's reggaeton blasts on 'Grandma Wine'... Breathe in, breathe out, Feel Up is the soundtrack you've been missing without knowing it!

Miguel Atwood-Ferguson - Mochilla Presents Timeless: Suite For Ma Dukes - The Music Of James "Dilla" Yancey (RSD 21) (DOLP)
In 2009, Brian Cross (aka B+) organized a series of live events at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex in Los Angles. The Timeless series captured the lasting impact of several artists on the world of Hip Hop and beyond. Live fully orchestrated performances by Ethiopia’s Mulatu Astatke and Brazil's Arthur Verocai bookended the incredible Suite For Ma Dukes, a tribute to James "Dilla" Yancey, by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. These superb quality live recordings, now long out of print, are back in effect for RSD 2021. On Mochilla Presents Timeless: Suite for Ma Dukes Miguel Atwood-Ferguson pays tribute to Dilla by interpreting his music for a 60-piece orchestra featuring special guests Bilal, Dwele, Posdnuos, Talib Kweli, Karriem Riggins and more. This premiere performance left many in the sold out crowd in tears. In attendance that night was Common, who commented “To hear J Dilla’s music expressed in that form just let me know once again how great he is. It moved me for real” with famed BBC personality Giles Petersen saying “That’s just about the most powerful thing I’ve heard. Brilliant.

Peyton - PSA (LP)
PSA is the full-length debut album from Houston-based singer Peyton Radiating confidence and self-love, PSA sees Peyton standing in the spotlight and making herself heard. Throughout the 12-track album, listeners are taken inside the reflective world of a young woman’s attempt to comprehend love, friendship, and life itself. “Everything I’m singing feels like my thoughts are pouring out boldly to the world,” says Peyton. Peyton began writing PSA in 2018, then worked with several producers including Biako, Jay Anthony, Vicky Farewell, Julia Lewis and Keys & Krates, to bring her vision to life. The album’s opening track “What Did I Do” puts a positive spin on her break-up with a close friend; “Don’t U Wanna Fly” is a reminder to see the beauty in child-like simplicity; “Let It Flow” is about trusting your intuition, and “Perfect Peach” is a song about innocent love. The album closes with Peyton’s cover of “Pure Imagination” – originally sung by Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory – a song that draws on PSA’s themes of youthful hope and continual creativity. Growing up, Peyton learned just how empowering music can be while she sang in her church and was mentored by her grandmother, the great Grammy Award-nominated gospel singer Theola Booker. In recent years, Peyton’s breakout hit single “Sweet Honey” appeared on HBO’s Insecure, and in 2019, she released her debut Stones Throw EP Reach Out. Now, she is ready to make her PSA to the world.

Cypress Hill - Cypress Hill (LP)
Repress, please note price change, all backorders cancelled, please re-order ! Somewhere in between the rock-star mischief of the Beastie Boys and the slow-creeping funk of Dr. Dre, Cypress Hill introduced their hazy-eyed sound to the world on their self-titled 1991 debut and things have never quite been the same since. The original Cypress Hill album captures the group at their risk-taking best, mixing gangster posturing, LA street politics, Latin flavor and warped humor together under a thick cloud of weed smoke and innovative beats. Nasal-voiced rapper B-Real and his partner Sen Dog, backed by the adventurous production styles of DJ Muggs, produce classics records like "How I Could Just Kill a Man," "Pigs," "Stoned is the Way of the Walk" and "Hand on the Pump." Since its release, the album has won acclaim as one of Rolling Stone's "Essential Recordings of the 90s" and "Top 100 Best Rap Albums" by The Source magazine.

Ol' Dirty Bastard - Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version (DOLP)
Back in stock! It's safe to say that hip-hop has never seen an album like Ol’ Dirty Bastard's 1995 solo debut Return to the 36 Chambers. The brief glimpses of ODB's unhinged genius provided by Wu-Tang Clan's landmark Enter the Wu-Tang album two years earlier were begging to be expanded on to a larger canvas, and, with RZA guiding production, the album promised to give Dirty the creative license to make one of the most bizarre, entertaining and original LPs inhip-hop history. With his raspy, drunken flow and dark sense of humor, Dirty fearlessly attacks from all angles, throwing himself fearlessly into punchy rhyme attacks (“Damage,” with GZA), drugged-out party jams (the monster singles “Brooklyn Zoo” and “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”) and bizarre, grimly hilarious fantasies of sex and violence (“Don't U Know” and the R&B-tinged “Sweet Sugar Pie”). Backed by RZA's appropriately gritty, dissonant beats andappearances from the Clan, Return became an instant hit, selling over 1 million copies and earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album in 1996. The album stands as a high water mark in the Wu-Tang Clan's collective creative output and was selected as one of the Best 100 Rap Albums by The Source magazine in 1998. In honoring the legacy of one of hip-hop's most innovative releases, Get On Down is proud to present this incredible andunique special edition of Ol’ Dirty Bastard's Return to the 36 Chambers as a double LP which contains the complete original album, remastered for optimal sound quality.
