Gabriel Roth, AMÉRICA! expands on the classic Mambo sounds that the band
has become known for — blending Latin soul, boogaloo and salsa - all
while staying true to their Cuban roots. On their fourth studio record,
the band introduces an all-star line-up of new singers including Mariam
Elhajli and Carolina Oliveros (of Combo Chimbita). Elhajli and Oliveros
both tap into the raw energy of Celia and La Lupe, but turn the lens
toward something more intimate: themes of loss, upheaval, and the weight
of the immigrant experience.

The Womack Sisters – Kucha, Zeimani, and
BG Womack – were singing before they could walk. Their 2026 self-titled
debut album, The Womack Sisters, is the musical culmination of the
Sisters’ long and winding journey to find themselves. Over an intensely
soulful collection of tunes that harkens back to when pop music had
substance, vibe and purpose, each of their distinct voices have their
moments in the spotlight. The Sisters grew up on the road. Their schools
were stages and studios all over the world, where they sang behind
their parents, Zekkariyas & Zeriiya (fka Womack & Womack),
alongside their four siblings. Nowhere was home for long. No matter
where they lived—London, Thailand, Amsterdam, Kenya, Paris, Sydney,
Zurich, Vienna, Tanzania, New York, Miami, West Virginia, the
Bahamas—they were always surrounded by music and family. As the
granddaughters of the legendary Sam Cooke and nieces of Bobby Womack,
the Sisters hail from soul royalty that is infused into their musical
cores. Releasing August 14th on Daptone Records, The Womack Sisters is
an album that looks forward by looking back, paying homage to their
family’s lineage while creating a sound that is uniquely their own.
The dream team of Sugar Minott and Victor Axelrod returns with a deep
rub-a-dub reggae take on The Notation’s low rider classic, “I’m Still
Here”. Shortly after falling in love with the song via a 45 mix from
Gabe Roth, Axelrod received a serendipitous message from the late great
Minott saying he was in town and ready to work. Sugar's effortlessly
soulful vocals coupled with Axelrod and Co's sweet and spacious groove,
transform the Notation's track in to a slow , sticky revelation of love
that's actually stable. The perfect soundtrack for discerning soirees
and those moments where you have one foot out the door but need a moment
of reflection.

The debut single from Soul Music nobility, The Womack Sisters, is a
one-two punch of soulful excellence. "If You Want Me" displays
uncompromising rawness with pop-sensible control in equal measure.
Propelled by the percussive attack of the piano and the hard-hitting
call and response vocals, the track has a satisfyingly feel-good swing,
allowing the groove to accentuate the hook. Sure to be a universally
filed disc for DJs looking to bring some life to the dancefloor. On "I
Just Don't Want You" sisters Kujcha and Zeimani's plaintive background
vocals and BG's powerful lead come together like a harmonic bouquet in
full bloom. A deeply soulful ballad at its core, it tells a tale of
someone coming to terms with the pain of being in love with Mr Wrong
when you know you deserve Mr Right.

180 gram turquoise audiophile vinyl, limited to 1000 numbered copies.
Das Dreamteam Sugar Minott und Victor Axelrod kehren mit einer starken Rub-a-Dub-Reggae-Version vom The Notations Low-Rider-Klassiker »I'm Still Here« zurück. Sugars mühelos soulige Stimme, gepaart mit dem sanften und weitläufigen Groove von Axelrod und Co., verwandelt den Track von The Notation in eine langsame, eindringliche Offenbarung von Liebe, die tatsächlich beständig ist.
